Sea Harvest Fish Market & Restaurants in Carmel-By-The-Sea blends the freshness of a classic seafood market with the ease of casual coastal dining. Situated on Crossroads Blvd, this spot is popular for those who want to dig into fresh, straightforward seafood without fuss. From the moment you walk in, the presence of a well-stocked fish counter sets the tone — a subtle assurance that what lands on your plate has been picked out moments earlier, not hours.

This restaurant fits comfortably into the local rhythm, especially for folks looking to satisfy serious seafood cravings after a day outdoors or exploring the central California coast. Whether you settle inside or opt for the outdoor seating on a sunny afternoon, the vibe balances a laid-back market feel with enough space and orderliness to keep things relaxed rather than rushed.

The menu leans heavily into classic seafood preparations with a few standout dishes that reflect local tastes and coastal influences. Options like clam chowder served in a sourdough bowl highlight a warm, comforting approach, while offerings such as sea bass, black cod, and cioppino carry more substantial, richer profiles for those wanting a fuller meal. Seafood platters and fish tacos provide a casual route to sample a variety of flavors without overthinking it. Sides like baked potatoes, garlic bread, and simple greens round out plates without overshadowing the main catch.

Sea Harvest operates as a solid choice for both locals and visitors who value freshness and portion size at a reasonable price point. The seafood display itself — featuring everything from oysters on the half shell to large prawns and mussels — invites browsing and planning a meal based on what looks best that day, adding a personal, almost market-like shopping touch to the dining experience.

Service here tends to be friendly and efficient, reinforcing the easy-going atmosphere. It’s suitable for an early dinner, a weekend lunch, or a satisfying stop after outdoor activities like hiking Big Sur, when something uncomplicated but nourishing feels right. The decor and layout hint at a classic coastal seafood spot without airiness tipping into trendy; it’s straightforward and welcoming, often busy but never cramped.

In summary, Sea Harvest is well suited for those who appreciate meals centered on fresh, simply prepared seafood with a relaxed, market-meets-diner charm. It works best for groups looking for variety and hearty portions, seafood enthusiasts who enjoy browsing and picking their meal, and visitors winding down from an active day in Carmel-By-The-Sea or nearby natural attractions.

My friends and I have been craving for clam chowder and were recommended this place. Our full order: clam chowder, fried seafood platter, and fish tacos. Chowder was on point! It was pretty good and stayed piping hot for a hot minute. The tacos were huge, they were pretty average and same with the seafood platter. The restaurant had a good amount of seats inside and outside. We went on a weekend and it gets packed pretty quickly. Service was quick, you just order at the counter and pick up your food when it's ready. Bottom line: Will be back!

Really enjoyed my lunch here. Service was very friendly, seafood was super flavorful & fresh, and felt like you had a lot of food for a good price. Ordered from the broiler - received baked potato, side salad, and broccoli with the fish. They have a really good seafood display with a wide variety of fish fillets, whole fish, mussels, and large oysters to take home. I liked how they had local wild options. Big parking lot. Would recommend!

If you want seafood that's actually fresh, you have to try this place. The setup is unique—it's a high-quality fish market, but they've set up a dining area with really nice, well-organized tables right out front. You instantly feel confident in the food quality because the fish counter is right there! We ordered the Black Cod, and it was seriously perfect—so tender and buttery it practically melted. But here’s the real secret: the little cup of Clam Chowder that comes on the side. It's a must-order. It's very good. Forget the overly fancy places; this is just great, fresh food that speaks for itself.

This is a great place if you are looking for fresh and reasonably priced seafood. My husband ordered the grilled sea bass with a side of rice and steamed vegetables and a cup of clam chowder soup. I had their special which was the grilled black cod with the same sides as my husband's. That cup of clam chowder was packed with lots of creamy goodness and bits of clams. The cod was fresh and cooked perfectly and so was the black cod. Everything was so good!

My husband recommended we go to Sea Harvest for an early dinner after a long day of hiking the Big Sur !! From the entrance of the restaurant, I was really excited about the vibes and the food that was to come. The décor was perfect for a fresh seafood and farm-to-table restaurant. The space is designed with a wonderful authentic blend of fresh seafood market and casual coastal dining . The menu has a great range of freshly prepared seafood. My husband loved the clam chowder, and I LOVED the Sea Harvest Cioppino. The atmosphere is laid-back with a local feel, and the service is great! Cannot wait to go back the next time I visit Carmel.

It was smelling a little fishy inside the restaurant because they sell fresh seafood there. We were cold so we didn’t sit outside. The main entree wasn’t hot enough to my liking.

Came to the area for hiking, and after the meal was perfect. Fast service with a menus that didn’t leave me overwhelmed. The fried portion of the menus is quite good, but the soups were not out of this world. The prices are fair not amazing, but the atmosphere is so cute! I would totally come back for a casual date night or with family!

Enjoyed a little lunch here. We were looking for a fresh fish meal. Figured a fish market would satisfy. The food was OK. Clam chowder in a bread bowl was huge, and i like how they served the top and insides on the side. But not the best chowder we've had. I got fish and chips, and big flakey chunks of fish were delicious, the batter fry was a little much on the outside for me. It's a simple setting, we sat outside with the sun shining was pleasant but you are basically in a parking lot. Quick bite, good choice!
